Dystingen Beanie – The iconic Cortina pattern in a lightweight sport design
A modern interpretation of a Norwegian classic
The Dystingen Beanie is a lighter, sportier version of the popular Cortina 1956 hat. Its timeless pattern is inspired by Dale of Norway’s very first Olympic sweater, originally created for the 1956 Winter Olympics in Cortina d’Ampezzo, Italy.
Designed for both outdoor activities and everyday wear, this versatile unisex beanie combines warmth, breathability, and comfort in a lightweight construction.
The exceptional softness of Zefir merino wool
Knitted from 100% Zefir skin-soft merino wool, the Dystingen Beanie offers outstanding next-to-skin comfort. The fine, long-staple merino fibers provide excellent moisture management, natural temperature regulation, and lightweight warmth.
The polypropylene lining enhances comfort while helping to protect against wind and efficiently wick moisture away from the skin.
The iconic Cortina pattern
The pattern featured on the Dystingen Beanie originates from the legendary 1956 Cortina sweater. Inspired by Norwegian traditions, it has become one of Norway’s most recognizable and beloved knitwear designs.
Named after a Norwegian mountain
The Dystingen Beanie takes its name from Mount Dystingen, one of the mountains surrounding the village of Dale. Rising 999 metres above sea level, it is among the tallest peaks in the area.
